We choose to focus on a small set of products that we can install and service efficiently.  If you would like Amp AV to service your alarm system, will will replace the primary components of the system to assimilate it to our company's standardized products.  This way, we can deliver the best possible service.

Camera systems and alarm systems work independently. Camera systems, however, are not able to automatically notify a central station of an alarm in progress, or when a door/window is accessed.

A practical use-case for you camera system is logging in to remotely view you cameras after having received an alarm notification first.

Camera systems can provide notifications, but it is not always advisable to do lots of outdoor motion activity triggering too many alerts.

Here are a few of the reasons why alarm systems are needed:

• Sirens scare off would-be invaders
• Notifies you of intrusion, power outage, fire, or flood
• Know who comes and goes when you're away (based on different user codes)
• Discounted insurance for the property (especially with fire sprinkler integration)
• Wired alarm systems can increase the home's appraised value
• Reminds you when doors or windows are left open at night
• Faster emergency response arrival time
• Automation system integration can trigger smart events

No, not always.

Check with your home or liability insurance provider to determine what discounts are offered for having a monitored alarm system to determine if that alone tips the scale in favor of monitoring.

There are many homeowners out there who "self-monitor," meaning they receive the alerts on their own personal devices and then choose if they want to notify the police if there is a realtime emergency.

Wired is always preferred.

Wireless systems are also good, but will need battery replacements every 3-6 years or so. They also will have range limitations, and the sensors are bulkier.

Wireless door and window contacts can interfere with window shades, and they are an eyesore. If a home is prewired for an alarm system, or can be, that is the way to go.

Wherever possible, Amp AV will use recessed magnetic door/window sensors, which are less conspicuous, if not invisible. The end result is much cleaner and more reliable.

Older alarm systems are or were difficult to remember how to operate for many people. The hard-button style keypads with small LCD screens are cumbersome and intimidating.

The systems we install include touch screen alarm keypads that make arming and disarming very easy. It is also simple to add or take away user codes, bypass zones, and check which zones are faulted (open). The touch screen intuitively walks the end user through each process with easy to follow icons and logical menu layouts.
