During the course of our new build, we got a few AV quotes, but when I visited the showroom and spoke to Greg I was sold. During the build process I was there daily watching subs and their work, AMP AV was always on time, extremely meticulous in the routing of cables and placement of equipment, and always clean. At the end of the install, everything was as planned and looks amazing. Never being a home audio guy, it sold me after this experience with Greg and Ryan. Also being a little tech challenged, they came back out to dial me and my wife in on how to use everything to it's potential. Definitely recommend, and this is not a paid review. 5 stars!

Highly recommended. They installed a home theater surround sound system and also fixed some faulty wiring for our patio speakers. Excellent work quality, great communication, and showed up on time for each planned visit.

Greg and his team are pros; they were very comprehensive in the consultation process, provided detailed quotes, and showed value. Once on-site the crew was knowledgeable, respectful, and eager to customize to meet our needs. I’d recommend any day of the week.

Greg and his team were great to work with! Greg came out for the initial assessment and answered all of my questions. When his techs Ryan and Easton showed up they were prompt, courteous, and did a wonderful job installing my network drops and cameras. Highly recommend working with the Amp AV team!

We absolutely recommend Greg/Amp AV. This company came out (hired mid to late 2019) and fixed a huge mess from our previous home automation guys. Our system was left complicated. Greg is honest, patient, and extremely willing to help. Amp AV gave us options and were willing to work around with the equipment we already had. Not only are they friendly and professional, the response time is quick and scheduling is made in a timely manner. We will continue to use this company and I would highly recommend for your home automation/tech needs. Prices are fair, I did compare to a few different companies.

Frequently Asked Questions

The most pressing need to get started with one of these platforms is universal control of the home entertainment, especially when there are multiple rooms involved.

There's a natural progression of adding more sub-systems, such as climate, lighting, and shades.  This is because it's convenient to have these controls all in one place.

Both Control4 and Savant make operating your home's technology as easy as possible.  That's kind of the whole point.

With that said, they are not for everyone.  Amp AV is not trying to push a sale of a control system for the sake of installing the system.  Rather, there must first be a need in which a home automation system is the clear solution.

Control4 has the ability to integrate seamlessly with Josh AI, which is another incredible system in itself.  Josh AI is an intuitive voice control system, which heavily emphasizes that the end user's data is not sold or shared.

Savant does not support Josh AI integration at this time.  *Updated Q4 2022—Not guaranteed for accuracy

Savant, gives the end user the ability to easily create scenes that can include lights, fans, shades, climate, TV, music, and more.  These scenes are easy to edit after they are created as well.

Control4, however, focuses primarily on lighting when it comes to creating and editing scenes within its user interface.  This adds extra steps to activate the additional sub-systems within the Control4 connected home.  *Updated Q4 2022—Not guaranteed for accuracy

When we meet with you either in your home or at the Amp AV showroom, we'll be able to narrow down the specifics of your home's needs.  Sometimes one platform or the other will have a more cost-effective solution for a particular application.

The most likely reason for this is that the equipment was not specified correctly, or not deployed correctly.  Let us get to the bottom of what's going on and provide you with a solution to maximize your system's potential.

Another common reason for this sentiment is when another integrator pushed a sale of equipment that was overkill for the customer's actual needs.  In such a case, the system is more complicated than it needs to be.

At Amp AV, we focus on providing value.  This means that you get the most out of your technology and it really does make your life more enjoyable through ease of use.   We design our systems correctly and expertly install them.  Your life is made simpler, not more complicated.

If these home automation platforms don't suit your needs, we'll determine the correct way forward so that you can enjoy your home entertainment, and other aspects of the home technology, the way you desire.

Yes they can.

Older speakers eventually break down as the rubber surrounding the speaker cone dries out and tears.  Sometimes the cone itself becomes brittle or tattered.

Yellowed plastic bezels are a horrible eyesore.  More modern speakers grilles are either all metal, or have an ultra-thin bezel resistance to yellowing.

As long as the speaker is replaced with one of equal or greater diameter, it's a very straightforward process to swap them out.  Contact Amp AV for a quote!

As great as the Sonos platform is, it has a shorter lifespan than speakers that are built into the home.  In 2019, Sonos released its S2 mobile application for their newer generation of devices and restricted older, legacy devices to the S1 application.  This meant that old and new Sonos products could no longer reside within the same whole-home system.

The point is that wireless speakers like Sonos will change with time and eventually become obsolete.  Meanwhile, there are homes with 15-25 year old architectural speakers (in-wall or in-ceiling speakers) that are still going strong.

Aside from avoiding having your system mothballed, built-in speakers are less of an eyesore than wireless speakers and sound more proportional to large, open-concept home layouts.
