What Chandler's Homes Bring to a Multi-Room Build
Most of the houses we wire for multi-room audio in Chandler date from the community-building boom of the 1990s and 2000s, and that history changes the job before we ever open a wall. Two-story frame construction is the norm here, and a lot of it was built with some structured wiring already run to a central closet. In communities like Ocotillo and Fulton Ranch, we regularly find existing Cat5e or coax runs that were never finished out, and reusing that infrastructure instead of pulling new cable can bring the cost of a project down substantially. It is worth checking before anything else gets specified. Chandler’s newer construction adds a second variable: open-plan great rooms with high ceilings and large expanses of glass. Those rooms sound lively, sound bounces around instead of getting absorbed, so speaker placement and room correction carry more weight here than they would in a smaller, carpeted room in an older neighborhood. HOA guidelines are also part of daily life across Chandler’s planned communities, and they shape decisions like where outdoor zone speakers or any visible equipment can go. We design around those rules from the start rather than running into them after the fact.
How We Build the System Around What You Already Have
If your Chandler home already has a wire bundle behind the TV, blank cover plates on the walls or ceiling, or wiring stubbed out in a nearby closet, there is a good chance it was prewired for sound and we can build on that during an on-site survey. Homes without any of that can still get a full system. Our technicians retrofit and fish wire through existing walls and ceilings, and in most cases we avoid cutting drywall or ask you before any cutting is needed. For the listening and viewing experience itself, we design each room to work the way that room is actually used, different volume, source, or video feed in the kitchen than in a media room, all managed from one simple control point rather than a separate remote per zone. When streaming matters more than a dedicated media server, we typically recommend Sonos, which handles mixed Apple and Android households well and lets anyone in the house queue music from their own phone.

During the course of our new build, we got a few AV quotes, but when I visited the showroom and spoke to Greg I was sold. During the build process I was there daily watching subs and their work, AMP AV was always on time, extremely meticulous in the routing of cables and placement of equipment, and always clean. At the end of the install, everything was as planned and looks amazing. Never being a home audio guy, it sold me after this experience with Greg and Ryan. Also being a little tech challenged, they came back out to dial me and my wife in on how to use everything to it's potential. Definitely recommend, and this is not a paid review. 5 stars!Posted on Google![]()

Highly recommended. They installed a home theater surround sound system and also fixed some faulty wiring for our patio speakers. Excellent work quality, great communication, and showed up on time for each planned visit.Posted on Google![]()

Greg and his team are pros; they were very comprehensive in the consultation process, provided detailed quotes, and showed value. Once on-site the crew was knowledgeable, respectful, and eager to customize to meet our needs. I’d recommend any day of the week.Posted on Google![]()

Greg and his team were great to work with! Greg came out for the initial assessment and answered all of my questions. When his techs Ryan and Easton showed up they were prompt, courteous, and did a wonderful job installing my network drops and cameras. Highly recommend working with the Amp AV team!Posted on Google![]()

We absolutely recommend Greg/Amp AV. This company came out (hired mid to late 2019) and fixed a huge mess from our previous home automation guys. Our system was left complicated. Greg is honest, patient, and extremely willing to help. Amp AV gave us options and were willing to work around with the equipment we already had. Not only are they friendly and professional, the response time is quick and scheduling is made in a timely manner. We will continue to use this company and I would highly recommend for your home automation/tech needs. Prices are fair, I did compare to a few different companies.Load more
Chandler Questions
Usually easier, not harder. Homes from Chandler's main growth era often have some structured wiring or attic access already in place from the original build, which we can extend rather than starting from nothing. We confirm this with an on-site survey before quoting anything, since it changes both the scope and the cost of the project.
It changes how we design the room, not whether it will sound good. Open, glass-heavy great rooms common in newer Chandler builds are acoustically live, so we place speakers to control reflections and apply room correction during setup. Left unaddressed, that kind of space can sound harsh or uneven, so we account for it during design, not after installation.
In Mesa, older neighborhoods rarely came with any of this in place, but plenty of homes built during the region's rapid expansion east toward Ocotillo and Fulton Ranch already have a data run in the walls from day one, usually Cat5e or coax terminating at a single closet. Before assuming your home needs new wiring for a multi-room system, we check for this existing rough-in first. Reusing it, when it is present and in good shape, can change the scope and cost of the project compared to a home with no wiring in place at all.
Yes, and we plan around it rather than against it. Many of Chandler's planned communities have guidelines covering exterior equipment and camera placement, so we look at options like landscape or in-ground speakers and discreet camera mounting that stay within what your community allows. We recommend checking your community's specific rules before installation so the plan we design will not run into approval issues later.
Often, yes. Without a second floor to run wire through, a single-story home from that era usually means shorter, more direct runs from the equipment location to each room, and easier attic access in many cases. Homes from Chandler's big growth period, single or two-story, were also sometimes wired during construction, so we still check for existing infrastructure first before treating the project as a full retrofit.
