Quality sound is essential to fully enjoy your outdoor living space.

Amp AV handles outdoor sound system in Chandler and across the East Valley, about 20 minutes from our Mesa shop. Chandler grew fastest through the 1990s and 2000s, so most of the homes we work in are master-planned community builds from that era, often two story, frame construction, and already carrying some structured wiring behind the drywall.

What Chandler's Master-Planned Homes Bring to an Outdoor Build

Growth here peaked hardest in the 1990s and 2000s, which is why most of the properties we service are two-story, frame-built homes inside master-planned neighborhoods, typically with something already installed behind the drywall from that construction period. Out in neighborhoods such as Ocotillo and Fulton Ranch, existing Cat5e or coax lines already reaching a central closet are common, and looking in that closet is usually our first step when scoping an outdoor sound system here, because a usable existing run affects both how long the job takes and what it costs. The other pattern common to newer Chandler builds is a great room that opens straight onto the patio through a wall of sliding or stacking glass. When that glass is open during a gathering, the great room and the backyard function as one acoustic space, so a patio zone tuned in isolation either fights the indoor system or leaves a dead spot right where guests actually stand, near the doors. We plan patio and landscape zones to complement what’s already playing inside rather than compete with it. And because HOA architectural guidelines are standard across Chandler’s planned communities, we place any visible equipment within what the neighborhood allows, not around it.

Built for Chandler's Heat, Wired to What's Already Playing

Arizona summers and monsoon dust are hard on anything installed outdoors, so landscape speaker wiring runs on direct-burial cable, the same rated cable used in irrigation lines, out through a stub-out box and conduit run at the house, then down into the ground. The amplifier belongs indoors, in a climate-controlled space, ideally reusing the structured wiring closet a Chandler builder framed into the house, keeping equipment shielded from heat and hidden from view. Manufacturer coverage on landscape speakers typically runs 5 years, and patio speakers often carry 10 years or longer, with a 2 year labor warranty from Amp AV layered on top of either one. To keep the patio and great room sounding like one system instead of two, we tie the outdoor zone into whatever multi-room platform already runs the house, Sonos, VSSL, Control4, or Savant, so a gathering that starts inside carries outside without switching apps. Around a patio or pool, the only televisions we put in are outdoor-rated models engineered to handle direct Arizona sun and heat.

During the course of our new build, we got a few AV quotes, but when I visited the showroom and spoke to Greg I was sold. During the build process I was there daily watching subs and their work, AMP AV was always on time, extremely meticulous in the routing of cables and placement of equipment, and always clean. At the end of the install, everything was as planned and looks amazing. Never being a home audio guy, it sold me after this experience with Greg and Ryan. Also being a little tech challenged, they came back out to dial me and my wife in on how to use everything to it's potential. Definitely recommend, and this is not a paid review. 5 stars!

Highly recommended. They installed a home theater surround sound system and also fixed some faulty wiring for our patio speakers. Excellent work quality, great communication, and showed up on time for each planned visit.

Greg and his team are pros; they were very comprehensive in the consultation process, provided detailed quotes, and showed value. Once on-site the crew was knowledgeable, respectful, and eager to customize to meet our needs. I’d recommend any day of the week.

Greg and his team were great to work with! Greg came out for the initial assessment and answered all of my questions. When his techs Ryan and Easton showed up they were prompt, courteous, and did a wonderful job installing my network drops and cameras. Highly recommend working with the Amp AV team!

We absolutely recommend Greg/Amp AV. This company came out (hired mid to late 2019) and fixed a huge mess from our previous home automation guys. Our system was left complicated. Greg is honest, patient, and extremely willing to help. Amp AV gave us options and were willing to work around with the equipment we already had. Not only are they friendly and professional, the response time is quick and scheduling is made in a timely manner. We will continue to use this company and I would highly recommend for your home automation/tech needs. Prices are fair, I did compare to a few different companies.

Chandler Questions

Not if they're zoned together instead of separately. We tie the patio into the same multi-room system running your great room, Sonos, VSSL, Control4, or Savant, so you can match volume and source between the two spaces or run them independently. The goal is one system that sounds right whether the glass is open or closed.

Yes, we can. Landscape speakers are buried and the wire stub-out is a small in-ground box, so there's little to see from the street. For anything visible, mounted patio speakers or a TV, we plan placement to work within your community's architectural guidelines rather than around them.

Often, yes. Chandler's subdivisions mostly date to the 1990s and 2000s building boom, and homes from that stretch inside master-planned communities frequently turn out to already have Cat5e or coax wiring reaching a central closet. We check that rough in first before running anything new. If it is reusable, it changes the scope of the project. From there we tie outdoor audio in as a zone through Sonos, VSSL, Control4, or Savant.

Most of Chandler's newer builds favor open floor plans with high ceilings and a lot of glass, which usually means no dedicated equipment room. The amp still needs a climate controlled spot inside the house, often a cabinet, a laundry room shelf, or a garage wall near the stub out where the wire exits toward the patio. We walk the layout with you and pick a location before any wire gets pulled.

HOA rules are common across Chandler's planned communities, and they can govern what is visible from the street or shared greenbelt, not just whether you can install something. We plan enclosure and bracket placement around sightlines from the start, tucking equipment against the house or inside existing structure where possible, so you are working within your community's rules rather than finding out about them after installation.
